Film print:
- More expensive than Digital Projection (D.P)
- Almost completely extinct
- Classic black and white
- Christopher Nolan said in an article in 2013 that he wasn't satisfied with the quality of digital projection, (the standard was 2k at the time) and that "35mm prints offer a depth to the image that D.P doesn't have" and "allows the world that is being projected to be projected in a profound way".
Digital Projection
- Cheaper that F.P
- Has mostly replaced F.P
- Colourful
- Has caused film making to evolve because of the creative possibilities that only D.P offers e.g 3D and higher resolution
- The medium needs less light than F.P
- Allows shooting to be done at a higher film rate
