sound of a music box
This is the sound of a music box that I will use for my video. A few of the reasons I will use it are:
It matches the mood of the film.
It is that it is eerie and dark.
It will create a link between the film and the fairy-tale of little red riding hood, it will be one of the things that creates a link between the two because most people connect music boxes with children and children with innocence and innocence with fairy-tales.

screenplay idea 1
Screenplay of Little Red Riding Hood
sound of music box playing , fade in from black.
camera looks down on little red. veiw her from the torso up. hear her shallow breathing/see her breathing, this will become shallower and slower whenever the camera cuts back to her. torso is covered in blood, has a black eye and cut on her forehead, bruised cheek(?). school top is torn in places where she has been stabbed, possible bruising on her neck to show how she was restrained.
Flashback
cut to the camera looking down at the credits on a puddle for 2-3 seconds. child (won't see their faces) runs through the puddle, the water ripples and the credits fade, when the water is calm again more credits appear. then repeat the ripple effect and possibly repeat the credits a third time.
screenplay idea 2
Screenplay for Little Red Riding Hood
Sound of a music box playing faintly in the background. Fade in from black to a head on veiw of the woods (the woods is straight on), it will be preferably dark and/or sparesly lit. Travel through the woods. Close up of the ground and have credits on have branches leaning in on the path and have credits on the branches.
Focus on a puddle thats on the path, have credits on it, have someone run through it and cause a ripple effect that distroys the credits.
Cut to a shot of someone breaking a twig. then cut to Little Red.
Have a side shot of Little Red lying down. The camera then moves to a position above Little Red, show from the torso up.
Little Red's top is torn/ripped from where she has been stabbed. it is covered in blood. she has a black eye, has a cut on her face and may have a bruised face. Hear shallow breathing/see her breathing get slower and shallower.
Cut to Flashback
Little Red, the Wolf and the Lumber Jack interacting, DO NOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE WOLF AND THE LUMBERJACK and DO NOT GIVE THEM COSTUMES, just have them dressed normally. The music box fades to into the background but is still there and you hear the sound of the children playing.
Cut back to Little Red
Music box fades back in/becomes louder again. Have a close up of Little Red from the neck up, her breathing is getting shallower and slower.
Cut to a flashback
Little Red and her dog in her garden
Little Red
Here Trixie ( or something like that )
Cut to little Red
Extreme close up of her face. She breaths once more then stops. Music box stops playing, fade to black
OR
opening credits, production and distribution companies
fade in from black open on footage of Little red either a side shot or a close up, music starts playing the moment you start fading in either stick with music box or use a clock, maybe use both - one for her laying there dying and the other for her running, maybe use running footage first then use more of a drum beat

48 frames per second (fps)
fps stands for frames per second and is the speed at which a camera can film shots. 48fps is mostly used for action shots / slow motion and is gives the effect of time being sped up / slowed down. In TV and digital cinema there are three main speeds of fps they are 24, 25 and 30. However there are many more variations, these variations are used for different shots e.g 48fps for action shots.

own learning-the difference between film print and digital projection
There are multiple differences between film print and digital projection.
Film print:
Film print:
- More expensive than Digital Projection (D.P)
- Almost completely extinct
- Classic black and white
- Christopher Nolan said in an article in 2013 that he wasn't satisfied with the quality of digital projection, (the standard was 2k at the time) and that "35mm prints offer a depth to the image that D.P doesn't have" and "allows the world that is being projected to be projected in a profound way".
Digital Projection
- Cheaper that F.P
- Has mostly replaced F.P
- Colourful
- Has caused film making to evolve because of the creative possibilities that only D.P offers e.g 3D and higher resolution
- The medium needs less light than F.P
- Allows shooting to be done at a higher film rate

Into The Woods Trailer
An Original fantasy/comedy/adventure/musical that puts a dark spin on a mixture of classic tales, those tales are: Cinderella, Snow White, Jack and the Bean Stalk, Rapunzel and Little red Riding Hood. These films are tied together by an original story about a childless baker and his wife, who wish to start a family, must obtain items from classic fairy tales to reverse the curse that was put on their family tree by the witch.
On its opening weekend (26 December) it made $31,021,000, however by the 1st January it had made a gross of $72,143,214.
It was produced by : Lucamar Productions, Marc Platt Productions and Walt Disney Pictures
The budget for the film was $50 million.
It was made over a period of four months.
About the Cast and the story
In the Cinderella story she wears gold slippers however in the film she wears gold ones, this is a reference to the original Grimm story in which she wore gold slippers.
Meryl Streep had a no witch rule before this film because she had been offered three witch roles in one day (after she turned 40), but broke that rule for this film after she met with director Rob Marshall and lyricist Stephen Sondheim.
This is the third Musical film that Rob Marshall has directed. Previous musicals he has directed are: Chicago (2002) and Nine (2009).
Johnny Deep modelled the Big Bad Wolfs persona on the slick talking suit wearing wolf in the 1940's Tex Avery cartoons.
While this is Lilly Crawford screen debut she has previously starred as Annie on Broadway.
This is the second time Johnny Deep and Rob Marshall have collaborated on a film, Marshall directed Deep in Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides (2011).
Emily Blunt was pregnant while filming.
Daniel Huttlestone previously starred in Les Miserables (2012).
The original film had Adult themes and Dark content, because of this Disney had several scenes revised or omitted.
Some changes were made to "Hello Little Girl" because it alluded to pedophilia, one of the changes was that the tempo was made 'Jazzier'.
Analysis of Into The Woods Trailer
Camera Shots:
A variety of camera shots are used, they include:
side on
behind
close ups
travelling
cut between
characters viewpoint
birds eye view
by using the cut between, primarily used when two characters are talking, the audience sees things from both characters perspective, by using the close ups and the characters viewpoint then the audience can see the other characters expressions and body language, this allows them to enterpret it and decide how they think the character may be feeling if it is not already obvious. the birds eye view is used in the beginning to show the lay out of the kingdom as the narrator begins to talk about who lives in the village.
Mis-En-Scene:
costumes -
wolf: 1940's mafia style suit, similar to the wolf that Depp based his attitude off from the tex avery cartoons, nails are black and pointed this create the illlusion of claws, his whiskers re twisted and this links to his twisted nature, there is fur on his hands that creates the impression of paws which in turn emphasises the illusion of the nails being claws, the fur on the hands also matches the cour of the suit which makes the suit appear to be fur. This also reflects the personality of the character and how Depp portrays him.
Sound:
Wolf - the music that starts playing when the wolf appears is dark and eerie and even slightly predatory, this emphasises the effect of the costume has on the audience. The sound also matches the edgy and dark mood.

Feed back 25/09
look back on my posts and highlight what I've been inspired by e.g. the clock
consider how I might use this is in my film opening e.g. music box
think about possible narratives

feedback from before christmas
your title sequence should...
1) create titles that link to the genre e.g. horror
2) establish a 'narrative thread' that hooks the audience, but not a 'complete story'
3)introduce a main character (if applicable)
4)create an enigma
include:
production company, actors (if you use them), the distribution company and the funder
